Trust Restored
Karen
My husband encouraged me to find a doctor close to home. I was reluctant because of high "white coat" anxiety and I have practiced very conservative medicine for many years. A friend told me about MDVIP and how pleased she was with this more personal style of medical practice and her doctor......Dr. Kopjas. So I called, made a consultation appointment to "meet and greet" with the good Doctor Kopjas. From the first phone call with Tammy, the greeting of the staff and meeting Dr. Kopjas, I was put at ease and felt I was "home". I am for the most part, in good health. My annual MDVIP exam was above and beyond what I expected! Dr. Kopjas and his entire staff are outstanding!!!
A good listener, a good teacher, empathy, kind, never hurried, thorough, patient, compassionate, encourager and very knowledgeable (about many things!) are only a few words that describe Dr. Kopjas. I'm in good health and quite possibly will only see Dr. Kopjas once or twice a year. But I am FULLY confident if my health requires me to see him more often, I will receive the BEST care available. I am fortunate to have found Dr. Kopjas and his amazing staff - I am blessed! My TRUST in modern medicine has been restored!

"Definition of a great physician"
Alicia
I became a patient of Dr. Kopjas near the beginning of his medical career. As soon as my only child became of age to leave her pediatrician, Dr. Kopjas received her as his patient. Over the past few decades we've dealt with a variety of health issues. It amazes me how one person can be so knowledgeable. Early in his practice, Dr. Kopjas dealt with nearly all of his patients' needs, which are now met by a multitude of specialty practitioners. His ability to diagnosis and treat so many different conditions is amazing. He also has a remarkable ability of putting his patients at ease. Prior to joining the MD VIP team, Dr. Kopjas had a tremendously large practice. Yet, he never made his patients feel "rushed". He listens to his patients with "patience". He is always sensitive to the situation at hand and deals with his patients in a kind and caring manner. I place my trust in him implicitly, for both my daughter's and my medical care.
There's never been a doubt in my mind that being a physician was Dr. Kopjas' lifelong "calling". He wears his "title" well, but without being pompous or egotistical. His demeanor is that of just a "regular fellow doing his job to the best of his ability". Through the years, I've NEVER seen him when he didn't have a smile and a kind word. I wish every physician would give their patients the kind of caring service he offers his patients.
A quick anecdote: My daughter is a die-hard "Star Trek TNG" fan. A couple of years ago my daughter went to Dr. Kopjas for a routine exam. Upon entering the exam room, Dr. Kopjas smiled at her, shook her hand and greeted her with a greeting in the "Klingon" (a fictional species) language. He had remembered how much she enjoyed Star Trek and that she loved linguistics! With his heavy workload he had taken the time to research and learn to speak a phrase just to bring a smile to my daughter's face. What physician does such a thoughtful thing??!! I dare to say, "No other!"
May God bless this wonderful man (and his incredible staff!) for the work he continues to do in caring for his sick patients and helping his other patients maintain a health-related quality of life. I wish Dr. Kopjas a long, healthy, prosperous and happy life, as he continues to strive to keep me, my daughter and his many other patients healthy, as well. He deserves to be "celebrated" every day of the year!

Dr. Kopjas is more then a doctor to me, He is like son, He is the reason I will not move Chicago to be near my son. Because I do not think I will find anyone will care for me as much as he does.
I've trustsed dr. tibor kopjas with my chronic diseases, medications, and necessary testing for 30 years

Being an insulin necessary diabetic for 40+ years, I have experienced most of the side effects and related health issues associated with that disease. To treat these various issues, I require someone with up-to-date knowledge and information on management of medications, knowledge regarding the meaning behind every blood test, staying abreast of new medications available, and constantly trying to improve my health and add years to my life. He is exceptional in each and every way.
After he supported my request regarding bariatric surgery to improve my health and reduce the number of insulin types and number of injections as well as the number of other medications I take, I had the bypass surgery last September. Approximately a month post-surgery I became weaker, frequently nauseated, and had back pain. Repeated calls to the surgeon were handled courteously with suggestions, but I continued to decline daily. The first time I called Dr. Kopjas to let him know how I had been feeling, one month after my standard panel of blood tests with normal results, he ordered a specific panel of blood tests and told me to get them done immediately. He personally called me the next morning to explain that my lab results were abnormal and my kidneys were functioning at a very low level. When I didn't seem to understand what the "numbers" meant, he explained that I was in renal failure. He told me to go to the emergency room immediately and said he would call the hospital to alert them ahead of my arrival. After continuing blood testing and IV fluids, he and the bariatric surgeon determined that I needed to be transferred to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO for specialized and acute care. I spent 9 days in the hospital recovering, keeping Dr. Kopjas up to date on my progress daily, as he had requested me to do. I was released from Barnes in "undetermined" but improving kidney function. Dr. Kopjas followed my recovery closely with testing and office visits throughout the following months. On my annual wellness examination last month, Dr. Kopjas happily reported that my kidneys had recovered completely, with no permanent damage.
I owe that fact to the very rapid understanding of my symptoms and ordering of specific blood tests for a specific diagnosis that he made. His standards of excellence continue throughout the office with his nurse, practice manager, scribe, and receptionist. I feel completely confident that I will live a long and much healthier life because of his knowledge, abilities, professional, but personal care, and encouragement to improve in any and every way possible. For years, I have told him that he is "not allowed to retire" as long as I'm alive. I hope he is still listening to my "order."

Dr. Kopjas and staff are wonderful

Dr. Kopjas and his staff are warm, caring people. They helped me with insurance issues, monitoring my medications, referrals when I need surgery, and always promptly respond to my calls or calls from my family. I hope Dr. Kopjas' never retires and can keep himself healthy so that he can be there for others. We love Dr. Kopjas, Tammy, Brandy, Michelle and the remaining staff.

The health of a close relative was failing under another doctor's care. He changed to Dr. Kopjas, and his health has improved dramatically. Dr. Kopjas and MDVIP provide excellence in healthcare.
Dr. Kopjas took extra time to meet with me

I traveled with my family to Dallas TX and picked up a severe rash from the hotel hot tub. I was scheduled to travel with my family in Santa Monica, California. Dr. Kopjas took extra time to meet with me between trips on the weekend to prescribe a treatment for me. I also needed medication prescribed for me while I was in Santa Monica and Dr. Kopjas and his team got the prescription setup for me without a problem.
It is great knowing that he is just a phone call away!

I've been a patient of Dr. Kopjas for over 30 years. When I have heard other's experiences with their doctors, I know I have the best! I have seen how he is more relaxed these last months since changing the way he is able to practice medicine. He is the same, but able to give his all, instead of the old hectic pace. He is my VIP MD!
